Do Thrift
Sweater: Ann Taylor (Similar Here), Skirt: Thrifted, Tights: Target (Here), Shoes: Steve Madden (Here), Clutch: Cole Haan;
Chunky heels are soooo much more comfortable than their thinner counterparts. I'm definitely not ready to give up all my stilettos but this is a great departure.
Hey sophisticates! My life has been so crazy this past week, but I'm back and promise to never leave for this long again! I reallly missed you guys. :)
So, leather skirts are a huge trend right now and I, for one, love the look. When done correctly, leather adds a bit of edge to any outfit. Though I love the look of leather skirts, I hate the price. A good leather skirt can easily set you back $100, not to mention those $1000 options available from premier designers. If you love the look of a leather skirt, but really like paying your bills as well, thrifting is the way to go.
Thrift stores are teeming with leather skirts. Though some of these skirts look dated, most of them are in pretty traditional silhouettes and in really great condition. Also, thrift stores usually have their leather items seperated, so no need to dig through mountains of clothes to find them. The leather skirt in the picture above set me back a wopping $3, plus the cost of dry-cleaning. So, if you love leather, but don't want to plunk down too much money, check out your local thrift store. You may be pleasently surprised by what you find.
