Neon Jeans: The Tuck Dilemma

I started my walk to the party like this........

Jeans: Fire via Nordstrom Rack (here), Shirt: H&M (Similar HI, Similar LO), Shoes: Christian Louboutin (Similar HI, Similar LO), Clutch: Target (Similar HI, Similar LO), Jewelry: Jewelry Boutique in Miami

Then I tried the center tuck.....As you can tell by my face, I kinda loved it...

But, because I'm so indecisive, I had to give the loose side tuck a whirl...........I was kinda feeling that too...

Finally, I tried the full frontal tuck...... And there was magic (lol)

Well kinda, I decided to go with the full frontal (that sounds sooo inappropriate lol) mainly because the Hubster liked it the best. Come to think of it, I'm not sure if he actually liked it better or was just tired of watching me tucking my shirt in and out of my pants in public. Oh wells, I love hazing him.

Anywho, neon is a big trend for this spring. In my opinion, this neon trend works best when you highlight (no pun intended, lol) one article of clothing. The remainder of your outfit should contain more neutral tones. However, if you're feeling a little bit saucy, feel free to light it up some more with your accessories!

Since, I chose these highlighter yellow jeans, I kept my top pretty basic. I chose this amazing grey shirt from H&M. The front gives off a silky effect while the back is a cool cotton. I love tops that play with different textures. As you can see, I was definitely feeling a little saucy on this day, as I chose to pair my outfit with these neon-ish blue peep-toes and a cute neon wallet/clutch from Target. (it was torture trying to fit things in there, so I used my back up storage - Hubby's pockets).

Because this neon thing is a trend, I definitely wouldn't spend too much money on neon items. These jeans were on sale for $30 and the clutch was about $12 at target. Keeping your neon pieces affordable saves you from having a closet full of expensive items that you no longer want to wear.

DEAL ALERT:
These earrings were my latest find at the Jewelry Boutique in Miami. Can you believe that these were only $6? They're a little "Ariel in the Little Mermaid," but that's why I love them. If you're interested in scoring some major costume jewelry deals, check out the Jewelry Boutique (aka Fantasy World Jewelry). They are located at 2098 NW 20th Street, Miami, Florida 33142.

Lots and Lots of Unconditional and Supportive Love and a Happy President's Day,
Jillian

  9. LOL! I love the comment about "full frontal." Too funny! I love this look. The cut of that shirt is amazing. Wish I lived closer so I could check out the jewelry boutique. Maybe you could drop a bug in their ear that they need to offer an online site. :-)

    1. I swear Target is really a girls worst enemy. Everywhere you turn, there's cute stuff just screaming "you need me and I'm cheap." I'm always wearing the shocked face when I get to the register and see my total.

  19. Love it all, but my favorite is probably the front tuck. Loved the way you remixed the bright and then neutralized it with the top. Right on! Btw, love "la veinte". I grew up about 5 blocks down and held my first job right there in a couple of the linen stores. Don't you just love the great finds? I really do miss that about Miami.

    Werk it hun!

  24. OMG...... I havent checked the blog all week. I was in these teacher professional development classes all week and as I was looking at bridal shoes your blog came across my history line. I love this outfit. The shoes are fab.... For some reason, C.L. heels are too high for me so they always end of staying on the shelf. In regards to the neon, can heavier women where them?

  25. Not Your Daughters Jean................ Is all I can say. I tried these on this brand at Bloomingdales last night and I love them. There have a higher waist than the seven and joe's jeans that don't fit me. PLUS they are sliming. The Bloomingdales in Atlanta is closing so they have 40 percent off the regular priced items so I was able to get these jeans for 62 instead of 104. The crazy part is that I purchased a light yellow color for the upcoming season. I would never have purchased that color if I didn't read your blog. I plan on wearing them with my Sam Edelman black suede gold spiked heels but not sure what color top. Can you help?

    2. Thanks for the suggestions. In the past I usually walk by these jeans but I tried them on and they were not bad at all. Already started packing to come home to Miami in April for spring break and to take care of some wedding details. Can you recommend a place in Miami where I can find a brooches? I need them for my bridesmaid. Thanks

P.S.- if my ears were pierced (and I actually wore earrings), I would totally fly down from LA to descend upon those pretty and a super score of a pair of earrings! I just love big earrings and these are gorg to say the least.
