Simple Dresses








Dress: Calvin Klein, Belt: Ralph Lauren (worn backwards), Clutch/Purse: Zara, Shoes: Bebe, Jacket: Thrifted, Necklaces: Beverly Johnson, Charter Club, Bracelets: Banana Republic, Earrings: Thrifted, Sunglasses: Edward Beiner, Watch: Rolex







I absolutely LOVE wearing dresses - especially simple dresses with unexpected elements. This simple blue sheath dress is absolutely transformed by the cascading wave design along the front. Isn't it funny how the prettiest things are usually the simplest?

Since I wore this to an after-hours function, I added a couple of layered necklaces to up the glam factor. I also brought along this thrifted tweed jacket to add some contrast to the outfit and protect me from the finicky Miami weather. My super high Bebe "Liza" pumps also made an appearance that night. I bought these pumps when I was absolutely obsessed with the YSL "Trib Too" pump. Since they were sold out everywhere, I settled for these Bebe "Liza" pumps. Though I still think the YSL "Trib Too" pumps are gorgeous, I'm happy that I didn't buy them. I'm definitely not as crazy about the YSL pumps as I once was, and I rarely wear these Bebe pumps. Figuring out that you're no longer into a trend is an easier pill to swallow when you've only invested $120 as opposed to $795. Have you guys ever purchased a high end item and regretted it later?

  6. Hey Jillian!! I made my way over here after you commented on Milk and Honeeyz and I luvs your looks and blog content! Ca-yute!! And of course, I love that you are an attorney too...heeyyyy!! And we seem to have a lot of similar style nuances(BTW: I wear my belts backwards and to the side all the time...lol!!). We gotta hang out (and shop it up)!! I lived in Miami and went to University of Miami for a year and I try to get back almost annually. I'm planning to come down for the Black Film Festival events this summer.

    Anyways, I couldn't agree more about the simple dress and how it goes such a long way. It's easy, but sexy, classy, powerful and appropriate for work and play. You nailed it!
