Miami Style: Double Digits Fashion Showcase

Last weekend, all the curvalicious divas in Miami and Fort Lauderdale descended on the Newport Beachside Hotel for the Double Digits Celebration Event.  The event featured the latest in fashion using only plus-sized models. This was my first time attending a Double Digits event, and the show did not disappoint. Not only did the models look fantastic, there was also a variety of vendors showcasing everything a girl needs to live a fabulous life.  Double Digits had it all - jewelry, hair care products, fabulous vacays, and everything in between. There was really something there for everyone.

The Double Digits event did a great job of showcasing the fact that beauty has nothing to do with weight. Ladies, you are the ONLY person that needs to be comfortable with the way that you look. Beauty is so many things, and we are all infinitely beautiful.

Here are a few of my favorite looks from the show.

Model: Zahra, Dress: Azucar
Curvier girls should not shy away from wearing vibrant prints. Just pick a printed dress in a flattering silhouette, and keep in mind that a little draping goes a long way. For example, the minimal side-draping on the dress above will help hide any trouble spots, but still celebrate all of your fabulous curves.

Model: Rachel (My FAVORITE model of all time and good friend)
Attention all ladies, ruching does a body good!!! Pair your ruched dress with some nude heels and watch jaws drop.

 Model:Zahra
Curvier girls should definitely embrace the trends. Colored denims are in for spring and come in all sizes. Balance out your colored denims with an off the shoulder top and you're instantly Miami chic.

Model: Kendra
I'm such an island girl and this dress screams beach vacation. These strategically layered pieces are another great way to maximize your curves.

Lots of Love and Positive Energy,
Jillian

  1. Such an uplifting post! I think we as females criticize our bodies wayyy too much. Each body is perfectly imperfect, that's what makes us who we are :)
