Blazer: Forever 21, Shirt: Banana Republic, Shorts: Forever 21, Belt: Michael Kors, Shoes: Sam Edelman, Purse: Zara, Watch: Rolex, Neck Cuff: Bijoux Jewelry in Miami
Short suits are trending this Spring, and I couldn't be more excited. Though I haven't found the short suit of my dreams yet, I faked the suit look with these paper bag shorts paired with a button-less blazer. I thought about going with a blouse, but ended up pairing my "suit" with this Banana Republic button-down shirt. I think it makes the outfit look more "suit-y" (if that's even a word) and I absolutely love the inky blue color of the shirt.
Though short suits are a no-no for work and other non-casual functions, they're an amazing way to look sassy around town while still beating the dreadful Miami heat. Do you guys see yourselves wearing this trend? If, so where are you going in your short suit?
Love your outfit Jillian. Love your shoes :)

Very nice. I'm not into shorts, but I like this idea, you are rocking it.
ReplyDeleteWhy thank you Missy! I'm just starting to get back into shorts myself. I used to be really self conscious about my legs so I never wore them. Now I'm making up for lost time LOL.

Jillian
You look amazing, as usual!
DeleteI used to be very self conscious about my legs too. I didn't start showing them until I turned 20 lol So glad you decided to just go for it and show those gams off, you look great!!
This is adorable. I'm all for short suits.. I call them playsuits! lol
ReplyDeletewww.BrillianceOfB.com
I love that. I think I'll call them playsuits from now on too! Thanks Missy!

Jillian
I absolutely love this look!! I like how you put your outfit together, the cropped blazer and matching shirt/shorts are so crisp and classic! I will def be wearing this trend, once the Chicago weather warms up, maybe with tights I can get away with it at work :), but for spring/summer any and everywhere! You look fabulous as always, great post!
ReplyDeleteToni
Thanks so much Missy! Ohhhh I wish I could be in Chicago this summer too. Summers in Chicago are gorgeous!

Jillian,
ReplyDeleteI am loving this look and I saw a couple of jumpers on Asos that I plan on putting together with a blazer for the summer. The belt tied at your waist is so cute and a nice touch! The shoes are sick but I need a moment with the necklace! I love that and hope to see it again in a look to get a better look at it. I love your blog, I feel like I'm at home trying on outfits with my girls.

That's exactly how I want it to feel! I love love love getting all the feedback and getting to try out new things with you. I love you to bits for this comment! The necklace is new. I got it at a costume jewelry store in Miami. It reminds me of the beautiful neck pieces common in certain cultures.

Jillian
I love it! You always amaze me with your looks. This is actually the first time I have seen this trend but I think I would do it with a longer short (just my style). I love the look. Gorgeous.
ReplyDeleteThank you madame! A longer short would definitely make this more appropriate for less casual events. I was trying to knock the hubby's socks off LOL.

Jillian
I really adore the outfit without the blazer. I feel like the jacket overpowers your fab figure and without it the world can appreciate the curves. Great accessories as usual, jill.

I love you for saying that I have a fab figure. That jacket may never see the light of day again LOL.

The neck cuff looks like it is choking you so not a fan of it or the shorts. But I like everything else especially the heels
ReplyDeleteLOL. My husband would probably say the same thing. It's actually pretty comfy though and I love the look. The heels are my fave too. You just can't go wrong with spikes on bows!

Jillian
Heck yeah, I see myself wearing this look...and I actually could wear shorts in my office. It was pretty much the coolest thing ever. I work from home now so it's not an issue, but when I do go into the office, I can wear whatever I want.
ReplyDeleteAnyway, you look FABULOUS girl. Those shorts fit you like butter and I love it with the blue blouse, then POP the bright blazer. Super cute...and you can go ahead and mail me those shoes. Please and thanks :)
p.s. who is this Lydia? SMH.
LOL! I would love love love to wear shorts to work - especially in super hot Miami (I'm sure you can relate, GA is just as bad sometimes). Thank you so much for the compliment missy! I'll mail you my shoes when you mail me that amazing metallic ASOS bag :).

I have been web shopping for days looking for a red blazer. I love the short suit. Maybe I can wear this look in Vegas this summer. I cant picture it with short sleeve shirt though. By the way I think you are smaller than me. I am going to have to lose weight for my something borrowed. shhhh..our secret.
ReplyDeleteLOL! You are so funny! I am definitely not smaller than you little miss extra small. It'll definitely be our secret!

I am about 131 lbs. That is about 15 lbs from high school. My freshman 15 came last year. I went to the mall today to get the red blazer. The blazer was sold out. I had the call multiple stores and still no blazer. I had to place an order online...shipping and handling fees. Its on its way. My black and white dress is going to love it.
DeleteJillian... Fantastic look. You look great from head to toe!! You own this look!! Your style never ceases to amaze me.
ReplyDeletego ahead!! Please keep it coming.

You look graceful in just about any and everything. Love this look! Your accessories are always poppin!!
ReplyDeleteLove the button down and the button less blazer with the shorts, it gives it more of a caj chic feel;) You look fab! And yes I plan on rockin' the "short suit" as soon as the weather here in Wisconsin cooperates;)
ReplyDeletewww.swoonblog.com
I absolutely love this look and have those shorts in 2 colors. I could wear mine to work considering we have no dress code and talk of such is literally taboo but I just don't feel comfortable doing so. I'd probably wear my shorts/short suit out to dinner with the girls or date night with the beau.
ReplyDeleteThis look is perfection!!!!!!

Love this look Jillian... I love the neck cuff, it's so cute. I'm not a shorts person because I always feel like shorts make me look like a child, but with this look, it actually looks causal and fun for adults... I'm going to look into trying it, since summer is everyday in Miami.

ReplyDeleteAlright girlfriend, you are working it out! The coral and navy is a lovely combination! I cant wait to start shopping again and creating a similar look this season. :)
ReplyDeleteVery impressive !! You have a great sense of what looks great on you, also keeping trends up to date but without over doing it. It's also inspiring how you are mixing pricey and "not so " pricey pieces !!
