Hey Lovelies,

Since we're practically family, I'll share one of my most embarrassing work stories. During my first month at work, I was invited to a firm-wide dinner party. Since I knew I would be working late, I decided to bring my party dress and change in my office. About twenty minutes before the party, I closed my door and began to change. About one minute after that, I turned around and realized that I was giving the window cleaners quite a show.

To avoid those awkward office nudity issues, I have resigned myself to remixing my work clothes. My goal is to create a work look that can take me from day to night with the simple switch of accessories, removal of a jacket, or pull of a shirt. No more peep shows for me :). One of my favorite pieces to wear when I need a quick switch up are surplice tops. I prefer the more exaggerated surplice tops like the one I am wearing above. I pin them up for a conservative v-neck look during the day. Then, I unpin them and show a little more cleavage at night. These tops are super versatile and really make switching things up easy as pie.

P.S. It's worth mentioning that this is my absolute favorite pencil skirt. In my opinion, Banana Republic makes THE best and most comfortable pencil skirts. If you haven't already tried them, you definitely should.

Love,

Jillian

Yikes about the unfortunate incident with the window cleaners. =/

I've LOOKED at Banana Republic's pencil skirt but I'll definitely keep them in mind when I'm in the market for a new pencil skirt.

    1. Thanks Missy! I swear by Banana Republic skirts. They're the only ones that don't make me feel like I'm wearing the equivalent of a straight jacket on my thighs.
