Polka Dots and Bows

So, I am THEE girly-est girl in the world. And, nothing makes this girl happier than full skirts, polka dots, and bows.

 Dress: J. Crew (HERE)
Shoes: Sam Edelman (HERE)
Belt: Betsey Johnson (Similar)
Clutch: Anne Klein
Necklace: Vintage
Earrings: Charter Club via Macy's
Bracelets: Bijoux Jewelry (Miami)

I wore this outfit to a former coworker's party over the weekend. Figuring out what to wear when you're not at work, but dealing with a large number of coworkers, can be quite tricky. It's even more tricky when the event is on the weekend. Though it's tempting to replicate the exact same outfits that you wear while you're on the clock, switching things up a little makes a bigger statement. Wearing your work gear to a weekend party may appear as though you're incapable of letting loose or, even worse, unable to present yourself appropriately in non-work situations (CRAZY, I know - but I've overheard conversations about this).

So, if you're sitting in front of your computer screen right now wondering what to wear to that baby shower, bridal shower, birthday party, or [insert event here] that your coworker or boss is forcing you to attend - opt for a dress like this. It's demure enough to ensure that your boss' wife won't be clutching her pearls the entire night, yet flattering enough to snag compliments from even your most hard-to-please coworker. Plus, the fullness of the skirt pretty much guarantees the appearance of a tiny waist - and what girl doesn't love that!

Even if your coworkers will be nowhere in sight. This J. Crew dress is  a great option for spring/summer get-togethers, brunches, and the monsoon of bridal showers that are on the horizon.

Don't forget to enter my Tiffany & Co. giveaway HERE. Tomorrow is the last day to enter!!! Are you as excited as I am?

Thanks for spending some time with me,
Jillian

  2. This dress is really cute by itself, and your accessories take the look from preppy to glamorous and elegant in an instant. Also, great advice on choosing outfits for non-work events with coworkers.

  6. You are giving me life! I love the accessories. The shoes are also a great touch.

With work events, it's such a hard line. Thankfully my job doesn't have a lot of events outside of working hours.
