My twitter loves already know that one of my wedding photos ran as a full page ad in the March 2012 issue of Essence Magazine. Here is an Iphone pic of the actual ad. I was so excited!
I recently drove to Orlando to help one of my closest friends shop for her wedding dress. After a day of laughing, getting miserably lost, and discussing old times - we finally found THE ONE. She looked absolutely stunning!
Helping her on her journey to find THE ONE made me think about my search. It took me four months, three cities, major anxiety, and some major alterations, but in the end it was perfect. Everyone's journey is

A few suggestions for my future brides:
- I got my dress from Chic Parisien Bridal Salon in Miami. They were amazing! If you're in the area you should definitely check them out.
- An amazing photographer is a big part of your big day. My photographer, Cendino Teme, was AMAZING! Check out his blog HERE.

Even before i started reading your blog i remember seeing you on essence.com. I thought everything about your special day was absolutely stunning.

ReplyDeleteYour wedding and that dress was the talk of Essence! My dress was actually a $99 find at David's Bridal ( I know SMH). I bought it on vacation in Florida and by he time I took it home to New Jersey I hated it! A few weeks before the wedding I ripped it apart and turned a poofy ball gown into a two piece with a detachable train- loved it! My advice- dont take the risk I took- take your time to find what you like. Don't bring an entourage either- I had no clue what I really wanted and just went along with everyone else.

ReplyDeleteI agree, photography is a really, really big deal. I recently saw some pictures online of this girl's wedding and they were all horrible and blurry and didn't focus on any details. In fact, most of them were from behind the bride and groom.
