Utility Jackets

 Dress: Cotton On (HERE)(Similar)
Jacket: GAP (HERE) (Similar $35!)
Belt: O-L-D (I've had it since middle school)
Shoes: Stuart Weitzman (These are gorgeous and on SALE)
Bag: Fendi
Watch: Rolex
Bracelets: Adriana Bijoux (Miami), Street Vendors

Does the fact that I've had this belt since middle school automatically qualify me for an intervention on the show "Hoarders"? Probably, right. Though I don't have random possums running around my condo or a collection of one of a kind candy rappers laying around, I must admit that I have a tremendous amount of clothes. I have serious issues parting with clothes and accessories that I love. But, since my hubby and I may be moving soon, I'm spending my evenings going through my racks on racks on racks of clothes and saying "adios."  The idea of this gets easier the more I focus on the fact that getting rid of some of my old loves, will give me more space for new loves like this GAP utility jacket.

Yes, I am officially in love! This utility jacket is a great alternative to a denim jacket. It gives you all the versatility of denim in a lighter, more breathable, fabric. You can wear your utility jacket with pretty dresses as well as denim jeans and still look well put together. For busty girls like myself, I suggest cinching your jacket with a belt since the location of the pockets may add bulk to your frame.

If you're interested in getting your very own utility jacket, GAP has the men's version of this jacket on clearance. I scoured the racks for my size, but couldn't find it. Hopefully you'll have better luck.

P.S. If you follow me on INSTAGRAM, you got a sneak peak of this outfit yesterday. If you didn't, then you missed out and you should probably follow me :)

Lots of Love and Positive Energy,
Jillian

  3. I have a very similar jacket, but I didn't think to wear it open with a belt and dress: Definitely going to try that! Great look/inspiration, as always :-)

    1. LOL. Maybe, but I would've loved those extra inches that most people have gotten over the years. I'm always the shortest in the bunch.

    1. Thank you! I think it was about $25 at this teenybopper store I recently discovered. The stores name is "COTTON ON," and it might be a good alternative to Forever 21. I'm not quite sure if I'm completely sold though.

  17. I love utility jackets! This is a gorgeous look on you and I love the color of that dress. I have a lot of clothes and accessories too and I hate parting with them. I usually just get rid of things that look dated or old. And I try to give to good charities too.

    "Actually, it's a novel."
"I see. So it didn't actually happen?"
    "Well, no. It's a novel."
She made sort of a face. "So it's just made-up storying..."
    "Well, yes, basically."
She put the book back down & wiped her hands on her apron, like they were soiled and looked at me like I was a spoiled child. "Then I wouldn't be interested. I don't read things that aren't true." If she could have sent me to bed for the day, she would have, but I was already there.
