For those of you who follow me on Twitter (@NuSophisticate) or Instagram (NuSophisticate), you already know that me and my very impulsive husband are currently in Mexico. Our first wedding anniversary is coming up and we just couldn't resist getting away from it all. We came up with the idea on Wednesday night, booked our tickets on Thursday, and were off to Mexico on Friday morning. Crazy, but so fun!

Since we're on vacation, I'm keeping it super casual. And, nothing says casual like a pair of denim cut-offs. Though they get a bad rap at times, I think denim cut-offs are a must-have. Not only do they come in handy when cleaning the house or attending random 80's baby parties, they can also add the right amount of "summer" to an outfit. I'm all about pairing cut-offs with button-downs and blazers. There's something about the juxtaposition of an ultra-casual piece of clothing, like cut-offs, next to dressy button-downs and blazers that ends up looking summer-time chic. Here, I chose to pair my denim cut-offs with a denim button-down shirt and straw hat. What do you think about cut-offs?
