I would bore you with talk about exactly how hot it is in Miami but, hey, it's hot everywhere. Instead, I'll just say that this outfit worked wonders for keeping me cool. Despite the rising temps, these materials were so light and breezy that I never felt uncomfortable. Just goes to show that the key to staying chic in the summer is all about picking lightweight materials. Well, that and ducking into AC'd buildings at every chance possible. :)
These shorts are from the Essence boutique in Brickell. The Essence boutique is one of my favorite places to shop when I need something unique and in a hurry. They always have the cutest pieces, in the most vibrant of colors. Plus, the sales-girls are excellent. They've consistently bent over backwards to help me find the perfect outfit. Excellent service plus unique items are a win/win in my book. If you're in Miami, you should definitely check them out.
This is one of the pieces that I bought at H&M in Atlanta. I arrived at the store 10 minutes before closing time, spotted this shirt, and bought it without trying it on. The cut, color, and subtle detailing were right up my alley. A white shirt like this is a must for any working girl. Wear it with jeans or shorts on the weekend, and then wear it with your pencil skirt to work on Monday.
This scarf is from H&M as well. I'm really loving mixing different shades of similar colors. This scarf with these shorts were a great mix.
I wore this outfit to celebrate with one of my best friends. She had a very big birthday, and an even bigger celebration. I've know her since we were 13 and I still love her like a love song. What were you guys up to this weekend?
P.S. Thank you for the positive feedback on the "She's a Boss Because...." series. I loved hearing how you guys mix things up in your respective industries. So much so, that I would love if you sent me pics of your boss-y outfits, and a description of how your outfit fits into your professional industry. I also plan on posting these photos on the blog as part of the series. I think it's important to showcase all of you lovely ladies making big moves, and looking fly while doing it.
