Hey Loves!
Though "Casual Friday's" are a great day to be more relaxed in your
work attire, I'm a firm believer that showing up to work looking too
relaxed is a big no-no. Getting to the right balance of relaxed and
professional can be quite tricky. So tricky, that once you find a
winning
combination it's tempting to repeat that same type of outfit over and
over again. If
you've fallen into a "Casual Friday" rut, a quick way to remedy that is
to invert the color and or texture of your go-to pieces. Since denim is
king on "Casual Friday's", wearing your denim on top can
be a great way to invert your pieces to mix things up a bit. Here, I
paired this amazingly
versatile chambray/denim shirt from Banana Republic with a light colored
tweed
skirt. Inverting the textures and colors of the normal "Casual Friday"
outfit leads to a more interesting outfit that's equal parts dressed
down and chic.
You can use this same theory with a military style khaki shirt.
SIDENOTE: I've been getting tons of requests and pictures for the "She's A Boss Because..." series. So much so, that I've decided to make it a weekly series on the blog and am currently working on the next post. So, please keep on sending me your pictures and topic ideas. Our next installment in this series will cover work bags and will go up on the blog on Monday. Thanks for being the most awesome and engaged readers a girl could ask for.
Happy Friday!!!!
Jillian
Love the idea of denim on top and love how you wore the denim shirt, not tucked in, and belted! That skirt is fabulous!

I am really looking forward to "Shes a Boss Because ..." and you have officially become my inspiration for professional style. I find that a lot of other bloggers put on a blazer and say that its professional, not understanding that we all don't thrive in a fashion forward work place. Yet you manage to be professional and stylish in a subdued manner. I love your style!
ReplyDeletejust discovered your blog and I love it!
ReplyDeleteNewest follower - hope you can check mine out as well! : )
