Printed Pumps, Pencil Skirts, and Tuxedo Shirts

Top: New York & Company, Skirt: J. Crew No.2 Pencil Skirt, Shoes: Marc Fisher (via Macy's), Earrings: Vintage

When working with the boys it's really easy to forget that it's OK to be a girl - to like bright colors, and printed pumps, and shiny jewelry and all the other things that us girls like. So this Monday, I'd like to remind you lovelies that we can definitely indulge in all the great things that come along with being a girl while still being work appropriate. For me, anchoring my outfits with one menswear inspired item (like this tuxedo shirt) gives me plenty of room to play around with girly colors and prints and jewelry and the like.

On another note, can we talk about the fact that I'm just starting to explore the wide world of exotic print pumps. I've been obsessed with my nude pumps for so long that I've never given exotic prints a try. I finally gave them a whirl last week and I'm obsessed. They function just like nude shoes with a little extra sex appeal. You can't really beat sexy and versatile.

Happy Monday Loves,
Jillian

  1. That outfit is perfect. Love the crisp white shirt. Love everything about your outfits always. I work with all men too and sometimes I hold back wearing a dress or skirt to work.

    1. Thank you so much Missy! Working with mostly men is definitely a double edged sword. You get some great insight into the weird way that guys think, but being around them for too long can definitely get you stuck in a black and navy blue rut. Here's to infusing some color into the situation in more ways than one lol.
