I've been scoring some amazing deals at the GAP lately. Seems like every time I drop by their stores I manage to find something that I love ... and that something just happens to be on sale. That never ever happens to me, so I'm thinking me and the GAP have something real special going on here :).
Over the weekend, I managed to scoop up this lightweight sweater and royal blue pant for only $45. The sweater was discounted to only $12 and the pants were about $30. Both pieces were great buys, especially considering the fact that they both transition easily from work to play. This time around, I wore this outfit to a dinner date with some very old friends, but I could also see myself wearing this outfit to work on a casual Friday (minus the sleeveless trench). Although the pants are cropped, they're long enough to fit into a professional setting. For me, a good rule of thumb is that your pants shouldn't stop higher than 4 inches above the ankle. Though slightly cropped pants can make you look like the cool fashion savvy kid on the block at work, showing up in glorified shorts will probably get you a couple disapproving looks.
Either way. The moral of the story is: stop into the GAP and scour the sales rack. There are some diamonds in the rough in there.
