Brunch! Take #102
Jacket: BCBG (similar here); T-shirt: J crew; Skirt: old; Shoes: Aldo; Bag: Fendi
I love eating and I love brunch! Not as serious as dinner and heartier than breakfast, a good brunch spot usually does it for me EVERY time! I wore this outfit to brunch this weekend and had a great meal, topped off with a mystery mix of ice cream and toppings from Coldstone. I'm planning on doing a formal review of the restaurant so check back soon for that.
Hmmmm, on another note, my New Year's resolution about working out and eating healthy aren't quite panning out for this month (see evidence above), so I think I'll start a "Second Month in the New Year " resolution. Whose joining me? :)

Miami Trench
Blouse: Zara (similar here), Jeans: Gap (here), Shoes: Sam Edelman (here), Brooch; Swarovski (similar here), Necklace: old
I'm a Miami girl - always have been and always will be. I love everything about this town, except the fact that wearing a trench coat is usually out of the question unless you want to end up with a heat stroke. For me, trench coats are an easy way to add a bit of polish to the most basic of outfits. They were a definite go to item for me when I lived in a colder climate. So, imagine my excitement when I saw this cute sleeveless trench coat from Forever 21. It gives off almost the same effect as a traditional trench, but is light weight and Miami-friendly.
I also added a brooch to the lapel. No joke people, I LOOVE brooches. Please keep me away from your grandma's jewels because I will clean her out with no remorse.
xoxo

Yay! My wedding is one of Essence Magazines 11 best of 2011
Last year my hubby and I decided to have a destination wedding. I'm a typical type A personality, so every moment up until my wedding day was filled with utter panic that everthing would be a hot smoldering mess. But, everything turned out perfect. So perfect that our wedding was featured as one of Essence magazines "Top 11 weddings of 2011." Check it out here.
To all my brides-to-be, STOP WORRYING because things have a way of working themselves out. All you NEED is the love of your life, family, friends and an amazing photographer (like mine). I'll share a few more of my pics and wedding tips in future posts.

Guess Who's Back? With the perfect pair of jeans.
Shirt: New York and Company (similar here), Jeans: Hudson (here), Shoes: Christian Louboutin (here in pink!), Belt: Betsey Johnson
I had an amazingly busy holiday season. It was actually my first Christmas and New Years as a wife, so I pulled out all the stops. I also decided that my motto for the year would be "it is what it is." So simple, but so true. Just a little reminder to look at things honestly and value them accordingly. Good to be back!
Ok, jeans have always been a major fashion issue for me. I'm short and curvy with a small waist. This means that if jeans can fit my waist, they are definitely not making it up over my thighs. And, if they can be hiked up over my thighs, there's a gigantic gap in the waist section. Ayyyy, what's a girl to do? Buy Hudson jeans - that's what. These jeans are an amazing combination of structure and stretch. They're stretchy enough to fit over my curves, while being structured enough to look...well - like jeans instead of leggins. Also, there is that added benefit of being able to find these jeans in more adult washes. Most stretchy jeans out there are so full of whiskering, fading and studded pockets that I think someone's gonna either ask me where 'homeroom' is or throw me in a Nelly video if I tried to wear them in public. Trust me ladies, Hudson jeans are a curvy girls best friend!
My husband hates this but I always swipe his cufflinks to wear with my cuffed shirts. It's like throwing on a second pair of earrings.
