Work Your Style

Hey Loves,

It's so awesome that you guys are excited and sending in submissions for our series formerly known as "Show Us Your Work Style" (thanks Michelle for the new title!). Remember that you don't have to be a blogger to participate, just a lover of work-wear.

So, up next is the lovely Karen working her style:

From a Caked-On Face to a Polished, Professional Look

On the first day of my first “big girl” job, I spent an entire HOUR applying make-up. Yep, a whole hour! Even though that was pretty crazy, what’s even crazier is the fact that until that day I had never (and I mean ever) applied a full face of make-up. But, on that morning, I convinced myself that I needed to look professional and beautiful - and that both of those things could only be achieved through piling on pounds of product. So I proceeded to apply concealer and powder and bronzer and blush and eye shadow and eye liner and lashes and,well...., any and every make up product I could find. To say I was made-up would be the an understatement!

Show Us Your Work Style

If you find yourself checking out all of your stylish co-workers and taking mental notes of how to recreate their looks (at a MUCH later date of course – you wouldn’t want them thinking you’ve gone all “single white female”), then you may have a thing for work wear. Now, if you find yourself sitting outdoors for lunch, in the scorching South F-L-A sun, to check out what the ENTIRE BUILDING is wearing to work then you may be as obsessed with work wear as I am and we should probably buddy up for some sort of 12-step program. Regardless of where you fall on the work wear love-o-meter, I thought it would be nice to bring some of the people-stalkingwatching fun over to NuSophisticate with this "Show Us Your Work Style" feature.

I would love it if you guys would send me pictures of your work wear looks, your profession, and philosophy on work wear style. It'll be an awesome way to get inspired, learn about the standards of dress in various professions, and get to know the fashionable ladies and gents that make working hard look oh so fabulous.

First up is Niurka! Get to know her better and let the positive energy flow loves.

Leopard Pumps

Leopard

Counter-clockwise from top:
Christian Louboutin Filo (HERE),
L.A.M.B. Niko (HERE),
John Lewis Dune Abern Pony (HERE),
Steve Madden Poized (HERE on sale!),
J. Crew Etta (HERE)

I have been on the hunt for the perfect pair of leopard pumps for a while now. Though the hunt continues, I think that I may actually be narrowing down the field and purchasing a pair really soon. For me, finding a leopard shoe that is equal parts sophistication and fun is proving to be a little challenging. After much consideration, I think that leopard print pumps look best when the leopard pattern is of a larger scale and continued onto the heel of the shoe. What's your idea of the perfect leopard? And, if you have any shoe recommendations - feel free to share!
