A comfy t-shirtdress is usually on the top of my list of 'things to wear while running errands'. Though I love how comfy they are, there's usually a point in the day when I catch a glimpse of myself in a store mirror and realize that my t-shirtdress has transformed into a shapeless wrinkled mess. It really never fails. Regardless of how precisely I iron, or how carefully I sit, there's always a point in the day when my t-shirtdress rebels. Though I've been fighting the good fight for quite some time now, I think I've finally figured out how to get the upper-hand in the situation.

I've started layering cropped button-down shirts underneath my t-shirtdresses. This helps the dress keep its shape and smartens up the look with minimal effort. I purchased this cropped button down from ASOS, but I've also just hacked off the bottom part of some of my old work shirts to achieve a DIY cropped look. I prefer cropped button-downs in this situation because not having that additional material around the waist helps me achieve a slimmer look.  I've also started belting my t-shirtdresses to get some additional help with any shape issues.
