This is that weird phase where winter is still in full effect, but everyone's mind is longing for spring. A lot of my friends who live up north call this the winter blues. The winter blues usually involves an intense desire to go coat-less, wear lighter materials, and indulge in all of the light floral concoctions that you see prominantly displayed in stores, all while facing the reality that it's just too darn cold to do any of the above. Unfortunately, this year us Miami-ans have been feeling this winter blues as our temperatures have been firmly in the 40's, 50's, and 60's for the past week (lol, i can feel all of the northerners and midwesters rolling their eyes at that statement).
With that said, this outfit was inspired by my "Miami" winter blues. Dark floral pants that hint at spring's floral explosion, a soft colored silk blouse, and a heavy coat to keep the chill away. I think this look is the perfect mix of the two seasons. Here's to the quick arrival of spring for us all.

LOL!!! Winter Blues indeed! Girl I'm originally from St. Louis (Midwest) but I have been living in Tampa for 7 years and I am totally spoiled. We have this random cold front going on now, and I'm so OVER it! Come on warm weather!!! You look fabulous by the way. The cut of that coat is beautiful!!!

ReplyDeleteI may or may not be somewhat of a wuss when it comes to the cold lol. But, in my opinion, it was freezing in Miami last weekend.

I love this take on the floral pants trend. The large scale print makes it feel upscale and sophisticated, and I think it's a perfect end of winter look.
ReplyDeleteStopping by from Style Me Friday!
My thoughts exactly. There's something about the large scale that speaks to me.
